Toba Cohen-Dunning, MSW, MPA

Toba became Associate Executive Director of the Omaha Public Schools Foundation in September of 2006, and Executive Director in 2010. She was the Director of Development for Boys Town National Research Hospital for six years prior to moving into the world of public education fundraising. Prior to that, she worked for her two Nebraska US Senators on a variety of legislative issues, Senators, J. James Exon and J. Robert Kerrey, both in Washington, DC, and Nebraska. Toba is the immediate past president of the National Schools Foundation Association, the current vice chair of the National Association of Education Foundations and sits on the board of the Nebraska Association for Public School Foundations. Along with Dr. Kevin Riley, Toba is a founding board member of I Love Public Schools, a nonprofit organization promoting the good stories about public schools. She also sits on the board of the Silver State Education Foundation in Nevada. She volunteers for a variety of organizations in the Omaha Jewish Community including the Institute for Holocaust Education, the Jewish Community Resources Council and the Jewish Federation of Omaha. She received her graduate degrees from the University of Nebraska/Omaha, and her bachelors degree from Creighton University.
