Welcome to the Horace Mann League

The Horace Mann League of the USA is an honorary association of leaders who believe that the public school system is the cornerstone of our democracy.  The League was founded in 1922, and since then has continued to be a leader in promoting the beliefs of Horace Mann, the founder of the American public school system.  The League believes that the public school system of the United States indispensable for the perpetuation of the ideals of our democracy and a dynamic influence in American life.  Our public schools should be free, classless, non-sectarian and open to all of the children of all of the people.

Membership is by nomination from a member of the League. We also invite you to self-nominate by sending an email or letter to the Executive Director with your name, affiliation with public education (ie, superintendent or educator, professor, student, researcher, public school advocate) and the organization you are connected to (ie, district, school, university, firm), your email address, phone number and any other information you wish to have considered.

DUES

Membership:  $175

Retired Member: $90.00

Graduate Student: $50.00

Donations are accepted and appreciated as all donations go directly to the League to support the mission and work of its members.
