Dr. Brian Schmitt

Dr. Brian Schmitt became the Genesee Valley Central School District Superintendent in 2012. Before coming to Genesee Valley, Dr. Schmitt served as a leader in Hannibal CSD, East Irondequoit CSD, and Fairport CSD. Hailing originally from Cato, New York, Dr. Schmitt received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John Fisher College in 1998, certifying him to teach Spanish for grades 7-12. He continued at St. John Fisher, receiving a Master of Science in Education Degree in 2003 and a Doctorate in Education in Executive Leadership in 2009. Dr. Schmitt is the father of two boys, Ethan and Andrew. His wife, Kathleen, is an Advanced Placement instructor of World History at Webster Thomas High School.
