Dr. Gregory Wyman

Dr. Gregory Wyman has served as an educator for forty years, holding positions as a teacher, principal, associate superintendent, and superintendent. He currently leads the J.O. Combs Unified School District, a suburban K–12 district in the Phoenix metropolitan area serving approximately 3,600 students across ten schools. His career spans both small rural and large suburban districts, giving him a deep understanding of the diverse challenges facing public education systems.

Dr. Wyman is known for his innovative and forward-thinking leadership. His initiatives have included launching a districtwide sustainability program that integrated real-time energy data into multidisciplinary classroom learning and advancing the use of technology to enhance instruction. He is currently implementing the Modern Teacher framework to personalize learning and improve student outcomes. Dr. Wyman has written extensively and presented nationally on the role of innovation and technology in education.

A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Wyman was named Arizona Mid-Size School District Superintendent of the Year in 2022 and received the AASA President’s Technology Award in 2005 for his work in educational technology.

Beyond his district, Dr. Wyman is a strong advocate for traditional K–12 public education. He has served as President of the Arizona School Administrators Association (ASA) and Vice President for Education of the Arizona Business and Education Coalition (ABEC). He is currently a member of the National Council on Modern Learning and remains actively involved in his community through service on a variety of Boards.
